AL MARROQUIN–Euphonium, Vocals

After retiring from an outstanding career as a U.S. Army band musician, Al often performed with our band as a substitute musician. He is a former member of the Texas Longhorn Band. His ability to step in for a gig cemented his value to the ensemble. Now, as a regular member of the band, he is always ready to “step up,” when necessary.

JEREMY JACKSON–Euphonium, Tuba, Vocals

Jeremy is another member of The TubaMeisters who honed his craft as a military musician, completing a career in U.S. Army bands. With strong music reading skills, he has certainly proven to be a welcome addition to the group. Jeremy is the newest member of The TubaMeisters.

RAY GRIM–Tuba, Vocals, Arranger[Founding Member]

In addition to his role onstage, Ray manages the group and has written the majority of the band’s arrangements. He also performs with the San Antonio Wind Symphony, is Principal Tuba of The Symphony of the Hills(Kerrville, Texas), and whenever possible, performs with the University Methodist Church Orchestra, and the New Braunfels Village Brass Band.

RICHARD WALLACE–Tuba, Euphonium[Founding Member]

As a member of The TubaMeisters, Richard is responsible for laying down a rich sounding bass line.  Richard serves as the conductor of the Alzafar Shrine Band, and also performs with the San Antonio Symphonic Band. He generously shares his talents, having made several annual Band and Bible missions to Africa.

AL TAPIA–TubaMeister Emeritus(Euphonium)[Founding Member]

Al is a retired U.S. Army Band musician and Bandmaster, a career which included two full tours in Germany. Al contributed much to the group, for many years. Al retired from The TubaMeisters in 2022. He is already missed.

Rick was highly involved in the creation of The TubaMeisters. His day job required a move which eventually led to his present location in Northern Virginia.
